Done: After cooling in the oven it's ready to be stored away, patiently waiting for it's next use.

Enamel-Coated Dutch Oven Care Instructions

Before First Use:

  • Wash your Dutch oven with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Dry completely before use.

Cooking Tips:

  • Use low to medium heat for best results; enamel retains heat well, so high heat isn’t necessary.
  • Avoid using metal utensils to prevent scratching the enamel; wooden, silicone, or heat-resistant plastic utensils are ideal.
  • Allow the Dutch oven to heat gradually; sudden temperature changes can cause thermal shock.

Cleaning:

  • Let your Dutch oven cool completely before washing.
  • Hand wash with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge or cloth.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or steel wool as they can damage the enamel coating.
  • For stubborn residues, soak in warm water before gently scrubbing.

Storage:

  • Ensure the Dutch oven is completely dry before storing to prevent moisture buildup.
  • Store with the lid slightly ajar or place a paper towel between lid and base to allow airflow.

Additional Tips:

  • Enamel may chip if dropped or banged against hard surfaces, so handle with care.
  • Do not use in the microwave.
  • Oven safe up to 260°C
